Art

Art has a natural place in childhood education. Our art room is a place to think, create and problem solve. Art helps develop students’ problem solving and fine motor skills. Looking at and talking about art further builds language skills, advances critical thinking, and can improve visualization that is fundamental to reading, too.

“Every child is an artist.”  — Picasso

Our program places emphasis on the creative process and critical thinking necessary to make art.

This approach appeals to the natural tendency of children to create and problem solve through self-directed experiential learning.

Highlights:

  • Children experience the joys of creating.
  • Our art room is filled with all the materials for creative expression: paint, yarn, clay, and more.
  • Making art is combined with lessons in Visual Thinking.
