Giving Opportunities

fundraising activities!

As an independent school, Evergreen relies primarily on tuition and proceeds from fundraising to cover operating expenses. Tuition alone does not cover our operating budget, and this gap must be bridged by fundraising activities. We strive to keep tuition rates and increases low in an effort to keep the School competitive while fostering a diverse community, which is a key component of Evergreen’s mission. The main categories for our fundraising activities are explained below. There also are other parent-led fundraising activities throughout the year, such as Sally Foster and the holiday wreath sale. Please contact the Development Office for more information on any of these giving opportunities.

The Annual Giving Campaign
Every year parents, grandparents, board members, staff, alumni, and other members of the Evergreen community are asked to make contributions to the Annual Giving Campaign.  A letter is sent in the fall asking for your support, and the Campaign closes in the springtime. Your gift will enable us to expand our programs and resources while maintaining the highest standards that we uphold here at Evergreen School. It will provide resources to extend our offerings to other students, and to enhance our programs that create those magical moments.  Gifts are unrestricted and go to the operating budget to help where they are most needed. As Evergreen School is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, your donation is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by tax laws. Consult your tax advisor for details.

Each year, we strive to achieve 100% participation in the Annual Giving Campaign. Full participation demonstrates solidarity within the Evergreen community to potential outside donors. Therefore, all gifts, no matter what size, are tremendously important and benefit us all.

The Rubens Ott Endowment Fund
This endowment fund was established in memory of one of Evergreen School’s students, Rubens Ott. Donations made to this fund will be directed to the fund’s principal, and the interest earned from this principal will be used to give financial aid to Evergreen families who qualify for our financial aid program. Through your generosity to the development of this fund, you are enabling students who, otherwise, may not be able to experience the magic that is Evergreen.

Gifts in Kind
Each year, our generous Evergreen community donates items that can be used throughout the school and classrooms. These donations provide resources to our faculty and staff which are outside of our yearly operating budget, and could not have been acquired without your kind generosity.

Evergreen Auction
Our Annual Evergreen Auction is not only a great fundraiser for our School, but this parent-led event is also a great social outing for our community. There are many exciting ways for you to be involved in our Auction, from being on the Auction Committee, to making a donation, to asking someone in the community for an item for our Auction.
