Introducing Pine Cone Park

At Evergreen School, Play is Natural

At Evergreen, we believe that outdoor play is essential for children’s social, emotional and physical development.

Play in a natural setting with plants, rocks, sand and bugs provides children with authentic ways to experience the world.

As part of the 2018 Strategic Plan, we recognized that the children of Evergreen need an outdoor playspace that meets the needs of children age 2-9. Our children deserve a safe and welcoming place that reflects our values. I am please to announce that Evergreen is moving forward with a comprehensive playground renovation this year!

We are already over 85% of the way to our fundraising goals to make the Pine Cone Park possible for all current and future Evergreen students. Please see below for ways you can help make Pine Cone Park possible.

Introducing Pine Cone Park

Safety, Exploration, Cooperative Play

Our new playspace, Pine Cone Park, was designed by Lauren Wheeler at Natural Resource Designs.  It includes the following attributes:

It is a safe space that inspires creative, active play, with
areas of interest for toddlers through elementary, and
improved surfaces: lush turf, safe wood chips & sand areas. It is
natural and organic, and will
retain/improve beloved structures, replace worn ones. It will include
a new, open playhouse and pole shelter,
all-season accessibility, and cool shaded areas. It will be
low maintenance cost/sustainable with
effective storm water management
