March 16 Update
March 16, 2020
Dear Evergreen Community,
As we begin an extraordinary period of closures and social distancing, we must remember that this disruption will be temporary. In the meantime, our teachers are prepared to continue to provide the care and support that matters so much to your children. Let your children know that they are loved by all of us at Evergreen.
Our faculty met this morning to practice with remote learning tools including Vimeo and Zoom. Teachers will be reaching out to you via email, posting videos and hosting video conferences tomorrow with lessons, activities are more. Videos can be watched at any time. Video conferences can be joined if the scheduling works for your family. No one will be required to complete the suggested activities, and parents are not expected to be Montessori teachers.
As you know, remote learning is new to us all. We welcome your feedback about the remotes lessons we send. We know that we will learn a lot about what works and what doesn't work during the next two weeks.
During the upcoming weeks, we recommend that you take frequent nature breaks outside, go for walks and get fresh air. Your children will benefit from sticking to their routines as much as possible. Practice self-care activities and moderate your intake of news. And please stay in touch with teachers. We want to hear from you.
Best wishes,
