Evergreen adds Rockville Campus
We are excited to announce that Evergreen School will open a second Montessori campus in Rockville this summer. We have agreed to acquire Redwood Montessori Academy, located in the academic wing of Living Faith Lutheran Church, at 1605 Veirs Mill Road. The retirement of the current owner of the school provided us with a unique opportunity that we are thrilled to capitalize on - to expand our presence and to offer Evergreen’s high quality of Montessori education to children at a second location.
For Evergreen, this is a strategic acquisition that will benefit us in several ways:
- It advances our mission of providing more opportunities for children to benefit from a Montessori education.
- It improves our reach into a second preferred market. The Rockville location is ideal in allowing families that live further away from our current Silver Spring location to access the Evergreen Montessori approach, while allowing us to manage it as a second campus, with shared leadership.
- We can effectively use our core strengths of a strong governance, leadership, and effective programmatic and administrative policies.
- A second campus will help enhance our reputation. This will benefit both campuses, in terms of student enrolment, and staff recruitment.
Evergreen will operate our second campus using the same Montessori philosophy and pedagogy that we are known for. The campus will be named Evergreen School, Rockville. All current Redwood Montessori families, faculty and staff will be offered the opportunity to continue at our Rockville campus.
Our commitment to providing an exceptional education for your children will not change. Programs for children at both schools will remain the same, and your children will continue to learn and grow in the environments they are used to with the teachers that know and love them. We are committed to maintaining the high standards of Montessori education, nurturing environment and strong community that both schools have created over the years.
We are confident that this expansion will be a positive change for our community, and we look forward to the opportunities it will bring.
